Midsummer 2017 in Suomenlinna
The Midsummer celebration is right around the corner. Helsinki is quieting down during Midsummer, but majority of the services in Suomenlinna will continue to serve visitors throughout the Midsummer holidays. We invite you to come to Suomenlinna to visit museums, enjoy a good meal or perhaps take a guided tour to learn more about Suomenlinna’s colourful past.
Ferry and waterbus operate from morning till evening
During Midsummer, from 23 rd to 25th of June, Suomenlinna ferry will operate according to the weekend schedule. JT-Line waterbus commutes during Midsummer as well. Timetables for the waterbus can be checked here.
Visit museums or join a guided tour
Of the six museums on Suomenlinna, five will remain open throughout the Midsummer holidays. A combined ticket for the museums is available for the price of €18. The combined ticket is valid throughout the summer, until 30th of September. The museums also accept the Finnish Museums Association’s “Museokortti” – Museum Card.
Guided tours are available daily in four languages: Finnish, Swedish, English and Russian. Tickets for the guided tours also include admission to the Ehrensvärd Museum located in the former Commandant’s House during opening hours of the museum.
Restaurants and cafés serve hungry and thirsty visitors
Getting a full stomach or quenching a thirst is easy in Suomenlinna also during Midsummer. Restaurants Pizzeria Nikolai, Viaporin Deli & Café, Bastion Bistro and Café Bar Valimo in the guest marina will be open daily. The cafés Jääkellari and Café Piper, as well as Café Samovarbar at the Toy Museum are also open throughout the Midsummer holidays.
Suomenlinna Tourist Information is open from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
